With the passage of time, the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering has been through 20 years. Although the school is newly build, the majors it consists have long histories: and Energy and Power Engineering disciplines can be tracked back to the Fuel Engineering major which established at the beginning of the Foundation of ECUST in 1952, and Environmental Engineering can be tracked back to the “Three Wastes Laboratory” in 1973 Benefiting from the efforts of our predecessors, the care of our alumni and the unremitting efforts of our faculty and students, the school has gathered a group of outstanding talents to integrate innovation and entrepreneurship in the comprehensive development of resources, energy, environment and security, and has gradually become an important base for high-level scientific research, high-tech achievement transformation and high-level talent training.
China is facing a serious of “lack of resources and energy, environmental pollution and ecological destruction”. Compared with the situation of economic and social development, the working foundation of environment and health is still very weak. The outstanding contradiction between development,environment and health has become a major problem that urgently needs to be solved. Education has always been the most powerful engine of social development, so it is our universities’ responsibility and mission to pursue ecological civilization and lead sustainable development of society. This is also a long-term dream pursued by the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering. It is hoped that graduates of the school will become useful talents who adhere to the concept of sustainable development, have the heart of humanity, have an international vision and have the ability to innovate and influence the development of the country and the world. It is hoped that the research results of faculty and students of the school can make an influential and valuable contribution to the academic circle at home and abroad. It is hoped that teachers and students of the school can make constructive and meaningful contributions to national development and progress, and even the sustainable development of the world.
