On June 5^th, the activity called “Beautiful Xuhui, We Are On The Way” was held in the Linlihui at Changqiao street to mark the 47^th World Environment Day. The event was sponsored by Xuhui Ecological Environment Bureau, undertaken by Aichuangyi Public Welfare Development Center, and co-organized by Shanghai Solid Waste Disposal Center, Xuhui Civil Affairs Bureau, and SREE. This event was an important step for promoting the construction of Xuhui New Era Civilization Practice Center, and party building between SREE and organizations of Shanghai on ecological environment conservation. The various participants attended the event including Xiuguangli, Party Committee Secretary, Cao Na and Rao Zhixiong, Deputy Party Committee Secretaries, Zhang Yi, Organizer, Wang Qing, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee, and student volunteer representatives.

Besides, Xiuguangli, together with Wang Chun, Director of the Xuhui Ecological Environment Bureau, and Ling Chenzhong, Deputy Director of Changqiao Sub-District Office, presented the flag for the SREE Environmental Conservation Volunteer Team.

    After the flag presentation, the guests gave an interpretation of the future environment, highlighting the importance of environmental protection, and visited an exhibition on waste utilization. Later, the salon themed “New Era Ecological Civilization Construction” was held, on which many environmental protection experts shared their experiences. Mr. Zhang Hailiang, a disabled man of over 70 years old shared his environmental protection story of making windmills with banner paper for decades, which impressed all the people a lot.

    It is reported that the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering have reached cooperation intention with Xuhui Ecological Environment Bureau. They will focus on coordinating resources, enriching connotation and improving efficiency, build the civilization practice center in the new era, and advance the integration and cooperation between party construction and central work, to promote the ecological civilization in the new era.
