Recently, ECUST has signed patent licensing of Opposed Multi-Burner Coal Water Slurry Gasification Technology for the 4*1 million tons/year coal-to-olefin demonstration project and a 11 million tons/year supporting methanol project with Inner Mongolia Baofeng Coal-based New Materials Co., Ltd. and completed the preparation of technological packages. This project adopts the super-large gasifier, which is to be constructed under the national “Thirteenth Five-Year” key research and development project undertaken by ECUST and Shandong Energy Group Co. Ltd. A single furnace, with 4.0m gasification furnace diameter and 6.5MPa. gasification pressure, has a coal processing capacity of 4000 tons/day.
This signing marks a comprehensive promotion of the furnace type after the successful operation of Inner Mongolia Rongxin Chemical Co., Ltd. The 4*1 million tons/year coal-to-olefin demonstration project is supposed to build 20 opposed multi-burner coal water slurry gasifiers with a daily processing capacity of 4,000 tons of coal, fifteen of which will be put into operation and five stored as backup. The total effective gas capacity of the installation (CO+H2)is 3.3 million Nm3/h. This project is not only the largest coal gasification project applied since the industrialization of ECUST’s opposed multi-burner coal-water slurry gasification technology in 2005, but also the largest coal chemical project that has been built and is under construction in China. Inner Mongolia Baofeng Coal-based New Material Co., Ltd. is a subsidiary of Ningxia Baofeng Energy Group Co., Ltd. After the complete demonstration of this project, Baofeng Energy Group Co., Ltd. will become the world’s first-class coal-to-olefin supplier and service provider.
Despite the impact of the epidemic this year, the clean coal team of our school has maintained contacts with relevant companies, providing them with all-round technical support for their development. Twenty-eight gasifiers have been promoted and applied in four companies during 2020. So far, this technology has been successfully promoted to more than 60 projects, with a total of 185 gasifiers, further enhancing its leading position in the domestic coal gasification market. Regarding the commissioning of new installations, large-scale opposed multi-burner coal-water slurry gasifiers with a daily coal processing capacity of 3,000 tons, provided by Henan Xinlianxin, Wanhua Chemical and other companies, have been put into production successively in the second half of this year. As a result, the accumulative number of gasifiers in operation reaches 89.
In addition, for in-depth summary and exchange of the operating experience of the opposed multi-burner coal gasification unit and the re-innovation, popularization and applications of this technology, the 7th International Seminar on the Promotion and Application of Opposed Multi-Burner Coal Water Slurry Gasification Technology will be held in Soochow in December, 2020. This international seminar will be organized by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and undertaken by ECUST and Shandong Energy Group Co. Ltd. The seminar will provide an important communication platform for further promoting the internal circulation of the domestic coal chemical industry.
