The second session of the first council meeting of National Engineering Laboratory for Processing Technology of High Concentration Refractory Organic Waste Water was held in Yancheng, Jiangsu on October 24. Du Huifang, our secretary of the Party Committee, attended the session with Ouyang Zhiyun, president of the council of National Engineering Laboratory, Yang Min, director of National Engineering Laboratory, Sun Qingshu, member of the Standing Committee of Tinghu District, Yancheng Municipal Committee of the CPC, and deputy secretary of the Party Working Committee as well as other members in the council.
National Engineering Laboratory for Processing Technology of High Concentration Refractory Organic Waste Water was established and approved by the National Development and Reform Commission in October 2016. Led by Research Center for Eco Environmental Sciences, and co-constructed by East China University of Science and Technology and Sinopec Research Institute of Petroleum Processing, the laboratory has solved a number of wastewater treatment technology problems in petrochemical, fine chemical, pharmaceutical and other industries since its establishment. In the meeting, Du Huifang, on behalf of ECUST, paid high tribute to the recent achievements made by National Engineering Laboratory and proposed that more efforts should be made to support sustainable local development and to provide effective solutions to deal with the industrial waste water. Sun Qingshu thanked experts, hoping that they can exert their potentials to stimulate the development of Industrial wastewater treatment industry in Yancheng city, and in Jiangsu province if possible. Yangmin introduced the history, achievements and current situation of the Yancheng base. And Ouyang Zhiyun put forward plans for future development in Yancheng city based on the construction of National Engineering Laboratory.
In this meeting, members of council and Technical Committee were also reshuffled after discussion. As a result, Professor Yu Jiangguo of School of Resources and Environmental Engineering of ECUST was newly entitled as the first member in the Technical Committee of National Engineering Laboratory. The meeting was ended with signing ceremony between National Engineering Laboratory for Processing Technology of High Concentration Refractory Organic Waste Water and Shimadzu Enterprise Management (China) Co., Ltd.
At the same time, accompanied by Wang Hualin, dean of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering and deputy director of the National Engineering Laboratory, Liu Yongdi, deputy director of the National Engineering Laboratory, Zhou Yanbo, deputy director of the Department of discipline and professional development, Cao Na, deputy secretary of the Party Committee of School of Resources and Environmental Engineering and Li Wei, deputy director of the Department of discipline and professional development, Du Huifang also visited National Engineering Laboratory for Processing Technology of High Concentration Refractory Organic Waste Water’s Yancheng base.
