Agreement on “2+2” Student Exchange Program
Between
East China University of Science and Technology and Colorado State University
East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) and Colorado State University (CSU) agree to pursue a “2+2” student exchange program.
Study Program
The program accepts outstanding students from East China University of Science and Technology with the aim of studying at CSU for the number of credits required to complete the degree with which generally be two or three years until graduation. There is no limitation regarding the majors.
Credit Transfer
The credits obtained by students at East China University of Science and Technology will be allowed to transfer to credits at CSU (generally 60 credits). The corresponding courses for the obtained credits need not be taken repeatedly. Likewise, the credits obtained by students at CSU will be allowed to transfer to credits at East China University of Science and Technology.
Graduation Requirements
According to the requirements of relevant programs, the students are expected to earn at least 60 credits at CSU.
Students will be awarded bachelor degrees respectively by both universities while meeting the degree requirements of both universities.
Rights and Obligations
Students will register as degree students at CSU with all rights and privileges of undergraduate students. Students will be subject to the rules and regulation of CSU.
CSU provides each students a special scholarship each year toward graduation not to exceed three academic years. The amount of the scholarship is one-third of the tuition per academic year (for example, the 2017 academic year is 8886 USD).
The students need to pay CSU tuition and fees as international students (tuition goes up slightly year by year). In addition, students must pay to CSU an application fee of $50 dollars. Other related expenses should be covered by the students including visa fees, accommodation international travel expense, travel insurance, medical insurance and so on.
To facilitate the process of transferring credits, ECUST and CSU should provide each other detailed related course descriptions in English.
Both Parties should take appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect Personal Data and shall not disclose the data to any third party without permission from the data subject.
Other Issues
Other issues not set out above will be subject to discussion on both sides and will be set out in Appendix.
The agreement is produced in English and Chinese, both versions have the same effect and shall become effective from the date of the last signature with duration of five years. It may be amended by the mutual consent. It may be terminated by any party of two universities giving three months’ notice in writing in advance.
In the case of conflicting interpretation of the next, a mutual understanding shall be achieved in a way that takes into consideration the interests of both parties. The Law of China shall govern the performance of this agreement in China and the law of America shall govern the performance of this agreement in America.
Termination of the validity of the whole or a part of this agreement shall not affect the studying program of the students who have already been chosen by this program.
