“3+1” Student Exchange Program Between
East China University of Science and Technology and Technische Universität Berlin
In order to adapt to the new trend of internationalization of higher education and promote the internationalization strategy of talents training of East China University of Science and Technology, East China University of Science and Technology have a friendly consultation with Technische Universität Berlin, and decide that every year it will choose students who are the freshmen of East China University of Science and Technology in the same year to participate in the “3+1” exchange program through voluntary registrations.
Exchange Program
The program accepts undergraduates from East China University of Science and Technology, and it is in the form of “3+1”, which means that from the first semester to the sixth semester, students need to study in East China University of Science and Technology, and from the seventh semester to eighth semester, students need to study in Technische Universität Berlin.
Graduate Requirements
According to the regulations, students are required to complete the courses of East China University of Science and Technology in the semester 1-6 with qualified results; and they are required to complete the courses of Technische Universität Berlin in the semester 7-8 with qualified results. In the meanwhile, students should finish their theses and pass the thesis defenses in Technische Universität Berlin, and then they can obtain the graduation certificates and bachelor degree certificates of East China University of Science and Technology when they return to China. After graduation, students can continue to apply for a master degree in Technische Universität Berlin.
Teaching Language
From the first semester to the sixth semester, Chinese is the main teaching language; and from the seventh semester to eighth semester, German is the only teaching language. Students are required to attend a part-time German training course organized by East China University of Science and Technology. The time of the course is 1200 hours in total.
Requirements for Studying Abroad
The qualifications for students to study abroad are divided into two parts, including professional level and German level. The qualified standard of professional level is to complete all courses and teaching credits in the first semester to the sixth semester with qualified results. The qualified standard of the German level is to get TDN-3 in TestDaf or to get DSH-2 in DSH.
Fees
Fees in East China University of Science and Technology: the tuition fee is 5,000 RMB per person for one academic year. Every student will be charged 20,000 RMB in total for four academic years.
Fees in Technische Universität Berlin: No tuition fee for studying in Technische Universität Berlin.
Students need to pay the German training fee by themselves (24,000 RMB per person). And all the expenses during the abroad studying should be covered by students including living expense, insurance expense, international travel expense, handling fee for going abroad and so on.
