The Evaluation and Awarding Meeting of the Social Practice in Winter Vacation was held successfully
The 2017 Evaluation and Awarding Meeting of the Social Practice in Winter Vacation of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering was held successfully at 16:00 on March 3rd at Room 306 in the building D. The meeting invited several honored guests of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, including Wang Ting, the Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee, Liu Chang, the Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee, Jia Lei, the Head of Academic Committee, Wu Yuting, the Deputy Head of Academic Committee and Huang Mingrong, the Vice Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Student Union.

In this year, the social practice in winter vacation took the “exploring the hometown folk culture in Spring Festival” as its theme. Our school organized 16 students to participate in the activity. At the beginning of the meeting, the host introduced the evaluation process. And then, the classes showed their social practice results in sequence.
Security 161 mentioned that in modern life, the atmosphere of the Spring Festival became fading, and the traditional festivals lacked enough attention. Environment 161 took the “host banquet” as its theme, and told its classmates’ stories of the Spring Festival in their hometowns. And meanwhile, they also recorded an audio to wish everyone a happy Chinese new year.

Environment 162 showed the charm of folk customs of the Spring Festival in different areas, like in Northeast China, North China, East China and South China. Environment 163 introduced the regional differences between the North and the South, and it also interviewed the craftsman of the special cap used in Shehuo (a traditional fire performance), which made us know the wisdom of the Chinese nation and the importance of protecting the intangible cultural heritages.
Energy 161 first introduced the program, A Bite of China, and showed different food culture of the Spring Festival in different regions. And then, they introduced the sacrificial activities such as “burning the first incense in temples”. Energy 162 introduced the Spring Festival activities like posting couplets and spring outing. Meanwhile, they discussed the phenomenon that the Spring Festival Gala became better and better while the number of the audience became smaller and smaller, and also explored the reasons behind the fading atmosphere of the Spring Festival.
