On the morning of November 26, the expert group for the inspection and evaluation of the new undergraduate major Energy Storage Science and Engineering, composed of Professor Li Meicheng from North China Electric Power University, Professor Shen Shuiyun from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Professor Lu Xilan, former professor of East China University of Science and Technology, conducted a comprehensive inspection and evaluation of the Energy Storage Science and Engineering major of our School of Resources and Environmental Engineering. Wan Yongjing, Deputy Director of our Academic Affairs Office, Sun Xianbo, Deputy Dean of the School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, Yu Guangsuo, responsible professor of the Energy Storage Science and Engineering major, Qiu Kaipei, Director of the Department of Energy Chemical Engineering, as well as representatives of professional teachers, counselors and academic administrators attended the meeting together. The meeting was presided over by Qiu Kaipei, Director of the Department of Energy Chemical Engineering.
Wan Yongjing and Sun Xianbo extended a warm welcome to the expert group on behalf of the Academic Affairs Office and the school respectively. Yu Guangsuo made a detailed self-inspection report on the construction of the new major on behalf of the Energy Storage Science and Engineering major, and answered relevant questions raised by the expert group on the spot.

This self-evaluation mainly conducts a comprehensive review of the construction of our Energy Storage Science and Engineering major from eight core dimensions, namely school-running guiding ideology, training objectives, graduation requirements, curriculum system, teaching staff, school-running support conditions, teaching process and teaching management, and teaching effectiveness. The expert group fully understood the construction and operation of the major by reviewing the teaching syllabi, training programs, course archiving materials and management documents, combined with separate discussions with teachers, students and teaching management personnel.
The expert group held that: East China University of Science and Technology's Energy Storage Science and Engineering major has a high positioning, remarkable characteristics and advanced concepts, which meets the needs of current social development; The experimental equipment and devices meet the professional requirements, and the teaching management and quality monitoring are standardized and orderly; the curriculum design is reasonable, and the training objectives are clear; teachers have high teaching dedication, and the teaching effect is excellent; students have high enthusiasm for participating in extracurricular innovation activities and various competitions, with remarkable achievements, which meets the expected standards of major construction. It is recommended to further increase efforts in major investment, enrollment scale and teaching staff construction to promote the better development of the major.
This new major evaluation was held in a combination of online and offline methods.
