The 2025 Annual Progress Exchange Meeting of the National Key R&D Plan Project "Research, Development and Experimental Verification of Thermochemical Hydrogen Production Technology Adaptable To Multi-source Organic Solid Wastes" Was Held

Recently, the 2025 annual progress exchange meeting of the project Research, Development and Experimental Verification of Thermochemical Hydrogen Production Technology Adaptable to Multi-source Organic Solid Wastes, which was a key special project under the Hydrogen Energy Technology of the national key R&D plan and led by our university, was held. Vice President Li Chunzhong attended the meeting and delivered a speech. More than 40 people attended the meeting, including project consulting experts: Jiang Jianchun, an academician of the Institute of Chemical Industry of Forest Products, CAF, Sun Shucheng, a researcher of the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Senior Engineer Chen Shuoyi, former Director of the Energy Division of the High-Tech Research and Development Center of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. The meeting was chaired by Liu Qin, Vice President of our Research Institute of Science and Technology Development.

In his speech, Li Chunzhong extended welcome and gratitude to the expert group on behalf of the project leading unit. He pointed out that the university has always adhered to the principle of Responding to the National Needs, Striving for the Pursuits of ECUST, integrates its development into national strategies and industrial progress, and has achieved a series of important innovative achievements. Gasification technology is a highlight business card of East China University of Science and Technology. In recent years, the gasification team has kept pace with development trends, promoted diversified technological transformation, expanded its research to the resource utilization fields of biomass, domestic waste, etc., and made remarkable progress in organic solid waste treatment. The university will continue to provide comprehensive and strong support and guarantee for the implementation of the project, to ensure the high-quality completion of the project and the production of fruitful results. 

Wang Fuchen, the project leader and professor of our School of Resources and Environmental Engineering, reported in detail the annual research progress and phased research achievements of the project, and the leaders of each sub-project respectively reported their research progress in this year. The expert group discussed and inquired about the current progress of the project and sub-projects, and put forward targeted guidance and valuable suggestions. 

The project Research, Development and Experimental Verification of Thermochemical Hydrogen Production Technology Adaptable to Multi-source Organic Solid Wastes focuses on the major demand for gasification hydrogen production from multi-source organic solid wastes. Through phased verification of key technologies and systematic integration and optimization, it will form a complete set of technologies for gasification hydrogen production from multi-source organic solid wastes and build a verification platform. The project is led by East China University of Science and Technology, and jointly implemented by 10 units including Dalian University of Technology, Beijing Peking University Pioneer Technology Corporation Ltd, Tsinghua University, Sedin Engineering Co., Ltd., Sinopec Nanjing Research Institute of Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Nanjing Tech University, Yangtze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University Zhejiang, and Southeast University. 

Professor Jin Wanqin from Nanjing Tech University, Professor-level Senior Engineer Qian Jinhua from China National Petroleum Corporation, Zhang Ling, General Manager Assistant of Yankuang Energy Group, Associate Researcher Sun Kaiwen from our Research Institute of Science and Technology Development, as well as relevant sub-project leaders and project backbone of our university, attended the meeting together.
