The Initiation of the Project of the National Key Research and Development Program of China, “Research, Development, Testing, and Verification of Thermochemical Hydrogen Production Technology Applicable to Multi-source Organic Solid Wastes”, is Held
Recently, the initiation and implementation plan demonstration conference of the project initiated by our university on the important and special subject, 'hydrogen energy technology', of the National Key Research and Development Program of China, 'Research, Development, Testing, and Verification of Thermochemical Hydrogen Production Technology Applicable to Multi-source Organic Solid Wastes' was held in Shanghai. Academician Zhu Weihong, the Vice President of our university, and Zheng Guanghong, the Level-II Inspector of the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, made speeches respectively. Academician Jiang Jianchun of the Institute of Chemical Industry of Forest Products, CAF, served as the leader of the expert group. Professor Cheng Daojian of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Sun Shucheng, a Researcher of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chen Shuoyi, a Senior Engineer and the Director of the former Energy Office of the High-tech Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Professor Jiang Lilong of Fuzhou University, Professor Qian Jinhua of China National Petroleum Corporation, and Professor Ma Ding of Peking University served as the members of the expert group. 40 people, including Wang Wei, a Level-IV Investigator of the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality, Professor Wang Fuchen, the Responsible Person of the Project, and responsible people of various subjects and project backbones, attended the conference. The conference was hosted by Yang Qiang, the Dean of the Institute of Scientific Research of our University.

Zhu Weihong represented the leading unit of the project to welcome and appreciate the expert group and leaders of the Science and Technology Commission of Shanghai Municipality. He pointed out that the university took the construction of 'National First-class Universities and Disciplines' as the guidance in recent years, persisted in 'Four Orientations', strengthened organized scientific research, assisted the acceleration of the realization of high-level self-reliance and self-improvement in terms of science and technology, and continuously improved the ability to serve the development of the economy and society. The university made remarkable achievements in terms of platform construction, formed a layout of '1+1+1+3' in the national key laboratory, and made significant progress in the aspect of organic solid waste reclamation and utilization. He said that the university would spare no effort to provide all-round and effective support and guarantee for project implementation to ensure the smooth operation of the project.
Zheng Guanghong appreciated the specialist who attended the conference, congratulated the project team, interpreted Shanghai's policies related to green methanol manufacturing, pointed out the direction of project implementation, and showed his high expectation for the project's achievements.

The project's responsible person, Professor Wang Fuchen, reported the overall project implementation plan in detail, and the responsible people of various subjects reported their subject implementation plans respectively. The expert group discussed and consulted regarding the implementation plans of the project and subjects and gave targeted guiding opinions and precious suggestions. Professor Wang Fuchen represented the project group to sincerely appreciate specialists' opinions and suggestions and said that they would accelerate project deployment according to the requirements of the expert group, further focus on and divide research content and plans, and ensure high-quality and high-standard completion of the project.

The project mainly centered on the material need for multi-source organic solid waste gasification for hydrogen production, verified section by section through key techniques, systematically integrated and optimized, developed a set of technologies of multi-source organic solid waste gasification for hydrogen production, and constructed a verification platform. The East China University of Science and Technology took the lead to initiate the project, which was jointly implemented by 10 units, including Dalian University of Technology, Beijing Beida Pioneer Technology Co., Ltd., Tsinghua University, Sedin Engineering Co., Ltd., Sinopec Nanjing Chemical Engineering Research Institute Co., Ltd., Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Nanjing Tech University, Yangze Delta Region Institute of Tsinghua University, Zhejiang, Southeast University, etc.
