Recently, the synthesis gas production device through oxidation of the non-catalyzed part of natural gas developed based on the leadership of Professor Wang Fuchen of the East China University of Science and Technology (with an independent intellectual property right) and adopted by the special PET chip new material project of Ningbo Juhua Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., with an annual production volume of 150,000 tons, was successfully fed one time. At present, the device is in the stage of steady operation, which marks another important achievement made by our university in the field of high-methane-gas low-carbon, clean, and efficient utilization, further consolidated our university's leading status as the only one research institution that holds the techniques of synthetic gas production based on solid, liquid, and gas raw materials, such as coal, residual oil, high-methane-gas, etc., and illustrated our university's leading role in the field of carbon substance gasification at home and abroad.
With the constant adjustment of the global energy structure, the transformation and upgrade of green petrochemical engineering are inevitable. The polyester new material project of Ningbo Juhua is the largest single project in the world. It is included in the program of A Thousand Trillion-level Projects of Zhejiang Province, with a total investment amount of RMB 1.68 billion. It is anticipated that the annual sales income will be lifted by RMB 2.5 billion after it is put into production. The project implementation breaks foreign countries' long-term technological monopoly, realizes domestic production of the whole industrial chain, es the continuous and healthy development of China's petrochemical engineering industry, and make important contributions to the transformation and upgrade of China's petrochemical engineering industry.
Through the industry-academy joint research for more than 20 years, the team of the Research Institute of Clean Coal Technology, the East China University of Science and Technology, developed the technology of synthetic gas production through the oxidation of the non-catalytic part of high-methane gas, which realized the large-scale, clean, and efficient transformation and utilization of multiple low-carbon hydrogen and carbon resources, such as natural gas, coke-oven gas, raw gas, etc. At present, it has been applied to 21 domestic enterprises and 22 projects (including 11 projects that have been put into operation), with 33 reforming furnaces in total, bring a significant economic effect to enterprises while assisting enterprises in realizing green production. The technology es the technical transformation and industrial upgrade of the industries, including coking, chemical engineering, metallurgy, etc., enhances the technical level of China's energy and chemical engineering industries, strengthens international competitiveness, and provides solutions for China to achieve the goal of Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality.
