The Embassy of the Republic of Namibia in China Sends a Letter of Thanks to Appreciate An Undergraduate of the School of Resource and Environmental Engineering of our University

Recently, the Embassy of the Republic of Namibia in China sent a letter of thanks to the East China University of Science and Technology to praise the excellent performance of the student Zhao Binhong of the program, Energy and Power Engineering of 2021, the School of Resource and Environmental Engineering, during the period when she served as an administrative assistant during her internship at the embassy, sincerely thank and appreciate the remarkable achievements made by the East China University of Science and Technology in terms of international talent training, and expected that it could cooperate with the university in more fields in the future and jointly contribute to the cooperation between China and Africa and the friendship between China and the Republic of Namibia.


 


Zhao Binhong, female, is a member of the Communist Party of China and an undergraduate of the 2021 program of the School of Resource and Environmental Engineering. Now she serves as the special president assistant of student affairs and the monitor of Class 211 of Energy.


 


Zhao Binhong actively responds to the university and the school's requirements for international talent training. She once participated in the school's study tour group to the National University of Singapore and Nanyang Technological University during the summer vacation and served as a student guest to attend the Sixth World Laureates Forum and the Eighth International Organization Talent Training Camp. She took the initiative to devote herself to international voluntary services and participated in the Fifth China International Import Expo, the Qualification of the Paris Olympics (Shanghai), TED & Shanghai Thousand-people Speech Conference, and FISE Extreme Sports International Tour as a volunteer. She continuously promoted cross-cultural communication and participated in the Harvard Summit for Young Leaders in China and the CTB Global Youth Innovation Forum as a young tutor. In January 2025, she interned at the Embassy of the Republic of Namibia in China and positively promoted the cultural communication and business cooperation of the two countries.


At the same time, she also had good performance in academic and practical fields. She once won more than 10 awards, including the Third Prize of the National Competition in Science & Technology on Renewable Energy for College Students, the First Prize of the National English Translation Competition for College Students (Shanghai), the Silver Prize of the 2nd National College Student Career Planning Competition, etc. She once followed the choir and the Street Dance Club of the university to participate in more than 20 national, provincial, and university-level artistic performance as a Level-X dancer of Chinese dance, the director of the Street Dance Club of the university, and a vocal music lover, and she was invited to participate in the performance of the opening ceremony of a global college student sports meeting. Her deeds were publicized and reported by Youth Shanghai, China Youth Daily, and other media.
