Recently, the conference of the initiation and implementation plan demonstration of the key and special subject that our university took the lead to initiate, Groundwater Pollutant Cross-medium Transfer Observation and Multi-interface Prevention and Control Technology, of the national key research and development program, Air, Soil and Groundwater Comprehensive Governance. Professor Wang Yanxin of China University of Geosciences (Wuhan), a Specialist in Project Tracking and an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, served as the leader of the expert group. Professor Wu Jichun of Nanjing University, Researcher Chen Mengfang of the Nanjing Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Zhao Lin of Tianjin University, Professor Zhang Lizhi of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Professor Pan Bo of Kunming University of Science and Technology, Professor Yang Kun of Zhejiang University, and Professor Zhang Tong of Nankai University, served as the members of the expert group. More than 50 people, including Li Chunzhong, the Vice President of our university, Ma Hao, the Director of the Environmental Office of the Administrative Center for China's Agenda 21, Wang Hualin, an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Dean of the School of Resource and Environmental Engineering, responsible people of various subjects, project backbones, and special guests, attended the conference. Jia Yunfei, the Vice Dean of the Scientific Research Institute of our university, hosted the conference.
Li Chunzhong represented the leading unit to welcome and appreciate the expert group. He pointed out that the East China University of Science and Technology keeps sticking to Four Orientations to serve national material strategies and meet the need for industrial development, and it is committed to scientific research that supports the world and reinforcement of the fundamental support of scientific and technological innovation for high-quality development. Green development is the bottom color of high-quality development. In recent years, the university took the construction of National First-class Universities and Disciplines as the guidance, comprehensively implemented the strategy of Four Transformations, deepened the developmental layout of two new items and two major affairs, and made significant progress in terms of pollutant emission reduction and reclamation, especially water pollution control, atmospheric pollution control, new pollutant governance, etc. He said that the university would actively provide effective support and guarantee for project implementation, create ideal conditions for the high-quality achievement of the set goals, empower the construction of a beautiful China with green and low-carbon development, and contribute the intelligence and strength of the East China University of Science and Technology to the comprehensive implementation of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation based on modernization with Chinese characteristics.

Ma Hao represented the unit of project management to make a speech. He appreciated the specialists and leaders who attended the conference and congratulated the project team. Ma Hao interpreted the latest policy of the national key research and development project management and give relevant suggestions on system construction and implementation for project internal control management, innovative achievement quality review and control, implementation plan argumentation, etc.
Professor Cui Changzheng, the responsible person of the project, reported the overall implementation plan of the project in detail, and the responsible people of various subjects reported their subject implementation plans respectively. After thoroughly listening to the reports and reviewing relevant textual materials, the expert group of implementation plan argumentation discussed and consulted regarding the implementation plans of the project and subjects. They confirmed the implementation plans and the project group's working results in the early stage, combined their own experiences, and gave targeted guidance opinions and precious suggestions on assessment and acceptance indexes, project operation management, subject unit collaboration, symbolic innovative points, achievement integration and transformation, demonstrative achievement implementation, etc.

Initiated in December 2024, the four-year project has 5 secondary subjects. It is mainly about the analysis of the cross-medium transfer mechanism of groundwater pollutants, the construction of large-scale simulation and stereoscopic observation systems, research and development of high-accuracy depiction and modern digital systems, the development of joint prevention and control materials, techniques, and demonstrative industrial applications, and it is committed to overcoming difficulties related to groundwater pollutant cross-medium transfer observation and multi-interface prevention and control, etc. The unit of project initiation cooperated with 10 organizations, including Peking University, Chang'an University, iFLYTEK Co., Ltd., Sinopec Fifth Construction Co., Ltd., the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chengdu University of Technology, Nanjing Institute of Soil Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Institute of Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese Academy of Environmental Planning of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, etc. to implement together.
