The construction of the Engineering Research Center of Carbon-containing Waste Reclamation and Carbon-free Utilization of the Ministry of Education was approved in October 2022.
Based on the important achievements made in the field related to waste reclamation and utilization, which have an influence at home and abroad, including solid carbon-containing waste gasification for synthetic gas and hydrogen production, gas-liquid carbon-containing waste non-catalysis transformation for synthetic gas and hydrogen production, etc., the engineering center focuses on crucial technical innovation and breakthroughs, as well as demonstration of new technology industrialization and engineering-oriented transformation of carbon-containing waste reclamation and utilization, as well as procedural carbon-free emission, strengthens cross-disciplinary integration, cooperates with relevant enterprises, constructs a world-leading engineering technology research and development base that integrates fundamental application research, key technology development, demonstrative application of industrialization, and innovative talent training in the field of carbon-containing waste reclamation and utilization, and es the engineering-oriented application of techniques.
The engineering center takes key technology development and engineering-oriented demonstration of carbon-containing waste reclamation and utilization as the key points and full-process carbon-free emission as the goal, centers on major research orientations, such as carbon-containing waste gasification/transformation, advanced hydrogen production technology, CO2 reclamation technology and system integration, and optimization technology, constructs new chemical and hydrogen production procedures that take carbon-containing waste as the basis, couples advanced hydrogen production technology, and realizes full-system carbon-free emission.
